I'm reading up on the rules right now!!! looks to be a strategy based challenge.

It's basically do puzzles fast to get the best players and fill out a formation.
Since I have no idea what the distribution of players will be something like a 4-4-2 is an extremely uninteresting, but balanced formation.
Basically get two goalkeepers and 16 other players at the very least.

Yeah.... I'm ok at Puzzles but I can see this challenge being very difficult. I don't work well under pressure :/

Hmmm So the first part of this challenge is just trying to get players by finishing puzzles faster then other people. The second part is to manage which puzzles to go for based on what we already have.

So it might be possible to just not be able to get 18 players in time if everyone else is good enough at sniping them? I guess they can't take everyone because of the money cap.

We also want to be searching for the extra puzzles that are around.
I wonder what the average power level of these players is going to be?

Like I said in the other thread, puzzles are my weak point but I haven't touched them in a long time so I'll practice up and see if I'm better than I remember. The worst that could happen is we do a puzzle another tribe is doing and they do it faster.

The worst that could happen is we do a puzzle another tribe is doing and they do it faster. 100% As a result finding the hidden puzzles seems super useful. I hope we're all better at puzzles than we think we are and we can actually just compete on the speed front, but I think we're going to need to target the subpar players. 18 players per tribe 4 tribes 5 rounds If they have exactly enough players (ignoring the hidden puzzles), there will be 14.4, probably 15, puzzles per round. Assuming 3 people active per tribe, 3 puzzles won't have someone going after them immediately. Any idea which ones they'll be?

Yeah I don't know if being bad at puzzles will mean we are just out. The hard part for me is screenshot and uploading an image fast enough.
How many puzzles will there be?

I feel like if we all generally feel below average in terms of puzzle speed, maybe we should focus more on filling out a roster than getting an incredible roster. This is of course if there aren't enough players to go around, which I kind of think there might not be, but thats impossible to predict.
If there are 18 players available for everyone, it might be safer to just gun for some of the middle range guys? I feel like an important part of this challenge is the claiming process of putting the players name is something I feel might be overlooked by at least one person in this challenge.
-Choose puzzle -Do puzzle -Post completed puzzle image with the persons name. -Hopefully we get said player.

I never considered the possibility there might not be enough players for us all to fill out our roster. Didn't they say if we don't get enough players to fill it up we just immediately lose?

Correct. Any tribe without 18 players will automatically lose.
I will also add onto the list of mandatory things we must have for the roster:
2 goalkeepers At least 10 American/Canadian players 3 Players *MAX* who have 450k salary. In regards to this I think it will be interesting to gauge how many there are given in round 1, and who goes after them.) All of our substitutes must be DIFFERENT ROLES. This is an atypical thing in regular soccer, but is very important for this. You can't have 2 CBs on your bench here. 6 different outfield positions and a goalkeeper must be our bench.

I don't really understand the soccer part of the challenge but jigsaws I can do my best in. I'll see if my test time is any good.

Man I hope I'm not the best at puzzles here, but uh. Also I hope our site has the option to filter for edges. I would love that. Very helpful feature.

Guessing they'll use Jigsaw Planet since that's the usual

I don't know soccer positions so maybe Kirumi should be in charge of what we go for.

How many pieces do you expect the puzzles to be? I would guess the better players are going to have more pieces, but I've got no idea what range we're looking at here.
Also, I encourage all of you to check out Jigsaw planet as the UI is a little different from the other site we used. For one thing I don't see an option to select only edge tiles first...

Oh ok, I didn't know what they would use. I'll check it out and practice there.
Depending on how many people we will have on to play the challenge, we should probably assign roles.
Example: *Organizing our team (knowing what we need and don't) *Finding hidden puzzles *Collecting Players

We can plan out our players quickly and do most of it before the challenge starts. One person should be responsible for keeping it updated, but that person can probably double up with locating hidden puzzles and getting players once they're done updating.
I think collecting players/solving puzzles should be our top priority.

And we are going to aim for middle/lower tier players right?

I think that's the best plan. Seems like none of us are the best at puzzles, but Kirumi is at least decent.
