I'd be down to do that, I'm fairly good at finding stuff like that.
I think we should prioritise Defenders since we need at least 3 of those? The numbers of Midfielders and Strikers can vary much more (and we have a Midfielder already)

I know i'm not going to be too useful at any aspect of this challenge, but if there's anything I can to to help, i'm willing to give it a shot.

I'm trying to understand the challenge a bit more. So from what I understand, our first priority should almost solely be to gather players with very high strength? Then as it gets later in the challenge, we try to fill holes missing in our team?

We want players with high strength for less money. We likely want cap space

Just read over Gundham's plan post in context with the challenge thread. I agree that going for high strength/salary ratio is smart initially, but I don't know how we're going to calculate that quickly enough to decide who we're getting before the other teams snag them up.

Also, gotcha chiaki. I don't see teams being bigger than 3 and we can' give advice. So just cheer whoever is playing on...I guess

Eh, but we can estimate what is a "good" deal and calculate back of the envelope

With the player we started with on our team, we have about $200,000 per remaining player. Ideally we use slightly more on the players we're actually playing and slightly less on the benched players, because the 25% penalty is less on a lower strength player. Monomi Monokuma Do we know how many people are participating in the challenge yet?

We don't. I'm just gonna work it out based on who's here at start time, since otherwise I'll say one thing and someone won't show up and it'll be a whole thing.

Aight, well, I suggest that if it's a low number we tag in and out between rounds to give players a break. I'm wondering whether it's worth having a tagged out player scouring the forum during Round 1, so they know where all the hidden players are when they tag in in R2? The problem would of course be if all the hidden players were taken during R1... but if they weren't, it would give us a significant advantage.

Makoto, this is how we get the rule that tagged in players can only do jigsaws.

I'll be here at challenge start. I'm still not quite clear on what exactly we'll be *doing* come the start of this. And we seem to have five rounds of choosing players, but how long are those rounds/how many players can we get per round?

I'm going to post a series of players next to jigsaw puzzles, solving the jigsaw next to each player and posting a screenshot along with the player's name before anyone else does that will get that player for your team.
You can get as many players as you manage to snatch up before they're all gone.
Rounds will last until all the players from that round are gone, or 5-10 minutes after the last jigsaw was solved if for some reason everyone just stops.

The places we need to look for hidden players are most likely only areas that *all* players have access to, I think they're unlikely to be here or in Cliques or Confessionals (at least, it's unlikely enough that it's not worth wasting time on it).
Places to look in order:
#1 - Despair Video on the Index page. Will take 2 seconds to click and check and it seems like a decent spot to hide one. #2 - Idol Clue links at the bottom of the index page, and the logo at the top. These are unlikely to contain anything but it'll be easy enough to check them that it's probably worthwhile. #3 - Previous Challenge threads. Check for the 'edited on August 29th' at the bottom of each post. I'm not sure if mods can conceal this but if they can, they have not been doing so thus far. #4 - Mood music topic in the Dining Hall, and the very first post in the Dining Hall topic itself. The latter is probably more likely to contain something. #5 - Previous Announcements threads (again, check for the edit date).
Make sure you click images in threads, sometimes they're hyperlinked. There are two in the Announcement forum that are already hyperlinked (Monokid, blue, in Welcome to Hope's Peak links to a Rickroll, and Shirokuma in the Headmasters thread links to an image of a crime scene) - make sure to recheck those two to see if they've changed, because I don't see much point to them in their current forms.

Wow, what a bunch of great ideas for places not to hide them! (JK, of course, I've already determined that)

I'm getting the sense that it might be worth it to pick up anyone who looks like they have somewhat decent strength/salary ratio. It's a waste of time to skip over some to be picky with others, I think. Or maybe we can have some people going for speed-picking decent players, while one person looks for the best picks?

That seems to be a good plan. We can avoid having people clash without needing to check here by assigning each person a target position to go for before each round - so having one person go for Defenders, one person for Midfielders, one person for Strikers etc - at least to start. Go for the first one that looks to have a decent value, don't spend much time doing calculations, because we can drop players later on if we need to but we can't grab players that someone else gets to first!

I mean I'm fine with just speed picking. Easy check, since the "average" player should cost 200,000 with a strength of 50, just multiple the strength by 4,000, if it's higher than the salary it's likely a decent pick.

The decent strength/salary ratio is a good idea, I mean.
