Good evening, everyone.
I would like my confessional to be less of a live feed of my play, and more of a series of journal entries keeping track of the most noteworthy events that happen. While I don't intend to provide every single detail of every conversation I have, I hope to nonetheless provide entertaining and insightful commentary.
I had some long-term goals coming into this game, but right now? My goal is simply to survive on this four-person tribe. On such a small tribe, it's so easy to be eliminated early, so I need to tread carefully.
I've spent my time since the game started chatting with each of my tribemates:
Makoto was the first person to message me, and he made a strong initial impression. We started chatting normally about video games and whatnot, but he quickly told me I made a better first impression than the other two and said we should agree not to vote each other. I'd be a fool not to accept on such a small tribe, so I agreed. He was the first to log off for the night, but I currently feel good about my status with him. I believed him when he said I made the best first impression on him, at least.
Chihiro was next. She's very similar to Makoto - they both know Danganronpa well (I don't), and they're fairly... standard players, playing by the book. What separates Chihiro from Makoto is her lack of aggression; we're not really talking about the game at all yet. In a normal game, I don't think that would be a bad thing, and I feel terrible knowing that she could suffer for not playing hard from the first night. But on a tribe of four people, you have to get your foot in the door before it's too late. I'm enjoying our conversation so far, but if something doesn't change fast, I'm concerned about her safety should we go to TC. (Of course, she could be chatting the other two up well and leaving me out of the loop, in which case good on her.)
Ibuki was the last to arrive, and she's the one I find most interesting. I've very quickly and easily let my guard down around her. While the other two are going through the motions of a good Survivor opener, Ibuki seems like she's just being herself. I can see myself working with her long-term, but more importantly, I can see myself having fun playing this game with her. I have no interest in voting for Ibuki should we go to a TC on this tribe on principle of her being the most fun person here.
I hope this is a decent introduction. Overall I've enjoyed the first night a lot so far, and I'm looking forward to what this game has to offer. I know someone asked me questions in another thread; they will be answered tomorrow.
