The Story of the Game (Extra post for after the game)
This is the story of a man who wants to win survivor, he wants to win bad. He doesn't want to be a complete backstabbing asshole about it all, but he wants to win, and will do what it takes to get to the end. It is his passion. So he signs up. He is the hero of this story.
Immediately he is branded a loser by the mods, he seeks to prove this wrong. He is curious about the members of his first tribe, and he meets them. One is nice and strategic and savy, she will make a good ally, she is named Kyoko. The second is social and flirty and all over encapsulating, she will be a powerhouse, and covers his weaknesses, she is name Celeste. He gets to talking to them deeper, about challenges, about music, about plots to conquer the world, and it's wonderful. There is a third on this tribe but they are quiet, but should be good to work with if they keep talking. And then they lose the first challenge, disaster. Already the losers have lost, and they must pay the cost. They slowly look at each other as they know what must be done, the sacrifice the quiet one, but not without tears. They are in this together, come hell or high water, they will continue on.
And then, our hero is torn from his friends, alone, scattered to a different place. He wishes them luck and hopes they survive, but now he must look to new horizons. This new tribe is large, and full of new people, new personalities. There are many. Makoto, the European who plays hard and fast. Leon, the memer who is more laid back but just as smart. Gonta, the big lovable bug lover. Sayaka, the sweet girl with a good taste in music. Koreikiyo, the affectionate oddball. These 6 will be friendly, they will be his friends. But still there are others, but they don't talk at all. He knows how important it is to stay together as a tribe, so he works tirelessly, on challenges and on talking to people, on making sure they like him, on making sure they like each other. Soon in a new character arrives, Teruteru, who is asked to replace one of the quiet ones. They talk of cooking and how they entered this game knowing they would be replacing in. They are all right, and they are good at challenges, hopefully things will go well. And they do, they fight they win, they go on, and our Hero is near the center of it all. He is filled with happiness and glee, what could possibly go wrong to change this. And then he sees an elimination challenge and a popularity quiz, oh well.
A million miles a way, a second man, a detective, is on a different tribe, with completely different people. He is not alone, he has a friend with him. They try and plot and scheme and set up a split vote, but he doesn't tell other people on the tribe, and everything goes haywire. A small mistake, something easily avoided, and it costs him dearly. His own life is in jeopardy so early due to his mistake, but instead his friend is eliminated.
A million miles away on another beach, with the friends of our dear hero, stands another man, a lucky man, who is great at scavenger hunts. And he is dear friends with our hero's friend, oh where will this lead? And there are many others here. But two people stand out from the rest, two wild ones, called Kaede and Koichi. They go out in a blaze of glory, and entertainingly.
And then the results come in. Our hero is now on a tribe with a few of his old friends. A tribe that means that people liked him on his old one, he is happy. He might not be the flashiest, but he is being recognized by his peers. The detectives mistakes have landed him near the bottom of the results, he has a long way to go. The lucky one, was not at the top, nor at the bottom, but he is not in the top half. Still they are all on different roads.
Our hero is neither lucky nor unlucky. His friends Leon and Makoto are with him, and they only grow closer. He also meets someone from his friends tribe, Chiaki, and she is friends with Chihiro, who is friends with Leon and Makoto. This could be difficult, but he ends up talking to them. He likes Chiaki, but he adores Chihiro, they bond, they become friends. They suffer a loss and vote out Chiaki, it is not easy, but they do it together. They promise to have each others backs, some have them more than others, but they are all still friends, it could have gone south if he was weak, but he was not. Things are good, they are happy. They will not stay this way.
Our detective is in the middle of a civil war, the issues with his last tribe have followed him. Some call for peace, but he does not listen, he fights them. Chaos ensues but as time goes on he manages to form a soft bond with the remaining people, it is an alliance of necesitty. The luckmeister does not have to worry, he wins immunity and talks to his tribe. Will the bonds hold? Only time will tell.
And then things start to crumble. On another beach our hero's friends are in danger. At first it is kyoko, this is not good, he prays that Makoto can help her survive, she does, but instead Gonta pays the price, he is the first to fall of our hero's friends. He couldn't stop it unfortunately, his influence was limited. But how bad could it get?
And at last, our 3 main characters meet on a beach together. Three different journeys, one may think, but this is a lie. Our detective and our scavenger hunter have been talking all this time, trying to work in concert. Surely these two together should be enough to beat our hero. He is but one man. Between them they have met everyone on this tribe except for him, what danger could he possible be?
Our hero is fine with his tribe. He has his first friends in the game, Kyoko and Celeste, and they talk like they were never apart. Chihiro comes with him too, he is really happy they are together still, after all he may be separated from Makoto and Leon, but he adored them just as much, maybe more. He even has Sayaka and TeruTeru back, though TeruTeru is quiet as usual, he is still okay. Sayaka is a friend of Chihiro and he hopes they can recconect, but he learns she mistrusts him, this is probably his fault, but it does not seem to be fatal, he thinks they can still work together. The only wild cards are the detective and the luckiest man alive, the luckiest man seems to be interested in Kyoko and Celestia, and the detective too, it seems they are a clear pair from the moment he meets them. Our hero does not trust the luckiest man alive, he seems odd, something is off, he not quite sure, maybe it's just a lack of awareness or something else, but he will keep him on note. The detective is different, he is still shaken from his last two tribes and his mistakes haunting him, but he is not a bad person by any means. They slowly talk.
They losse the first challenge, our hero conspires with his friends, Kyoko and Celestia, to see what can be done. For our hero it is clear a sacrifice must be made, if too many of his first tribe exist, they may get picked off slowly, and he has a few of them on the other tribe. Teruteru is also linked to Nagito, Nagito doesn't want this to happen, but he is powerless to stop it. Our hero has gotten his way. The luckiest man alive becomes scared, it seems he has angered Chihiro and to an extent Sayaka, and now he may need to use one of his idols. He is terrified, but why should he be scared? He has his partner here, surely together they can pull something off? Yet they find themselves powerless compared to our hero, he will not die here. Still the tribe survives, this would normally be good news for our hero, but instead it is very bad.
Without warning Leon leaves the game, he was not prepared for this. Maybe for him to get voted out, but to just abandon the game, no, not like this. He can not fathom how bad this is for him. Leon might not have valued him about all else, but he valued him. He weeps for a bit, and stages a vigil. Soon our hero hears of Makoto, the lovable rascal who always wanted to play with him, is in danger. Even worse, the person that our hero can interact with, is not interested in eliminating anyone other than him or Koreikiyo, another one of his friends. They were unable to work together without him it seems. But a mutiny opportunity may happen, Makoto must realize his situation, right? He must realize he is at risk where he is an is safe elsewhere. But he doesn't take it, "YOU IDIOT!" Our hero yells at his screen, "can't you see you are in danger, can't you see you should be here with me?" but it does not work. Instead Makoto tries to maneuver on his own, and he very nearly survives the next tribal, but he is dead. Another blow, and our hero couldn't stop it. Last to fall is koreikiyo, he seemed happy Makoto went over him, and our hero is taken aback, they were supposed to be friends after all. And yet koreikiyo is surrounded, it is not as hurtful because of what preceded, but our hero is nonetheless sad. But at least they made jury, at least they knew him. This song plays:
Our hero will not forget what happened, his friends are dying. He makes a promise to place well for them, to make it to the end of the game. He feels it, the despair of losing them, but there is hope. Hope, hope that he can make it, hope that what he does have will be enough, hope that he can win it for them. The pair has lost little, no damage they could not have easily avoided, but our hero could not have stopped this without breaking the rules, and he wouldn't do that. He has lost so much due to poor luck, but when rng messes with you, you win anyway. That is what he tells himself.
Merge comes and he does the math. He knows next to no one on the other side, between them the pair have met everyone. He has no reason to believe he has a shot in this. He learns of the people he doesn't meet. Two of them stood by Makoto as he died, Hiro and Hiyoko, for this he is grateful, but he is unsure how much he can trust them. He learns that 3 of them were against makoto, killed him in cold blood. One of them, Ibuki, knew him in the beginning, and flipped on him at the end, so did another one, Mikan. For this, our hero thinks, he wants them to be punished. He understands why they did it, but he can not fully forgive, he will avenge makoto. But his anger at those two pales in comparison to the third, she is the one who was against Makoto the entire time, the murderess, Akane. She will die, he does not know when, but he will not let her reach the end of this game. He meets her, and he sees that she is strong, she is crafty, she is willing to fight, and she is willing to deceive. She is not on his side, she is his greatest enemy.
Sure our hero could talk to them, he could try and pry into their hearts, and he could open his, but he knows the chances of them loving him like the friends he already has, is slim to none. And if he succeeds, it will hurt him and them when they die, when they betray him. So he looks to his dearest friends, Kyoko, Celestia, Chihiro, and even Sayaka. He hopes that the relationships he made mean something, that he is not just a number to them, that he will not be cast aside. The first round has begun, and now it is time to see what happens. Our hero knows that in order to make it to the end he must be careful. He must be overlooked, he must try to be invisible.
Our hero must also move fast, he knows the murderess will not die here, but he tries a little. He conspires with Celestia and Kyoko (through Celestia) over who to target. They must do this quickly, they must be ready. Wagons galore are going around, Sayaka, Hiyoko, even Nagito. But none of these can strike the murderess except for the last, and he is not seen as scary yet. A shame. So the hero proposes a name he heard before, Ibuki. He's met her, she is kind, she is sweet, she is fun. She is the kind of person people want to vote for to win, the game, and if she is with Akane, she is even scarier. Yes, Celestia, agrees, but are the votes there. Our hero thinks, yes, they are, but it is late and they are busy the next day. So they go to Sayaka, and make sure she is on board, she will push this vote a lot.
Sayaka also makes other plans, plans to set Celestia and Akane against each other (Celestia already is, but Akane doesn't know this), it fails to convince Akane. Our hero ensures she is on the right path, and confirms with others that everything is proceeding to plan. It does work. A blow has been struck thanks to a 4 AM conversation and a lot of planning and work. Still he is not sure what to think looking back, should he be proud and say "WE DID THIS!" or should he know what has been done and go ".....we did this." It is another manner.
The next round is a flurry of things, Our pair is set to work, to fight to guide it. This much is true. Our hero works with his trio, knowing that with the last vote and their relationship, they may be surrounded on all sides. In fact shots are fired at them, some are meant to hit our hero, but thanks to Kyoko, thanks to Celestia, and perhaps most of all, thanks to Chihiro. He is safe. He is not just an accessory to them, he is a partner. Chaos occurs, and our hero learns of plots against his allies, but all three of them have their strengths, and Celestia's is getting people to get information. The plot is spoiled. Everything is up in the air, the targets become Sayaka, who had targeted his friends, and Hiyoko, who had told Celestia the plot. The decision is easy, but he still talks to Sayaka to see what she says. It almost convinces him, but it does not, not with what has happened. But before the conclusion occurs with chaose everywhere. Someone is medevaced. Who could it be? Our hero asks....it's chihiro. Once again, due to nothing he could have stopped, a friend is died. He can not say goodbye, he stages a vigil. He will not be all right this night and will take time to recover. It is now him and his orginal friends, against everyone. Now his friends are well connected, surely they can survive, but how can he avoid getting picked off? he thinks. This is his darkest moment, the despair has not grown deeper than this. He must try harder, he must fight even harder.
Opportunity knocks, a big brother round occurs and his friend Kyoko holds the power. Him and Kyoko have unwittingly been on the same page the entire time, they just didn't know it. He talks to her, they must target the people who until now have been out of the limelight, those that are fully against them, the ones furthest from them. Some have tried to betray them, but he looks at Hiro and Mikan. Associated with the murderess and each other. It's not easy to do, but someone must go, and they'll be damned if it's one of their own. This is a war after all, some may have different methods, different motivations, but nonetheless it must go on. They go up.
Not all goes well, these two do know people who like them after all, they are not fools or weaklings. One of their friends, Sayaka, wins and saves Mikan. Hiyoko goes up, but our trio still wants Hiro gone. But it does not matter what the greys want, our pair thinks. They can control this. They promised Hiyoko safety first, but now they must take her out, she may betray them. They will save Hiro, they are confident of this. They talk they set things up, and what is this, our hero wants to go to the end. Perhaps, he is out of the loop, he is weak, he will not be able to do much to stop them. They work hard, they get cocky, they split their votes, but it will be alright, it will be a 4-3 vote, but Hiyoko will go, they are certain. The results go up and...Hiro goes? What happened? This song plays:
Our hero was no fool. He saw his friend in danger, even if they were not that close, he still knew her better, and hiro was funny and well liked, it would be hard for him to be removed. He looked around, he knew Celestia was with him, that was never a question, he knew he would be hard up to convince Sayaka or Mikan given previous rounds. He knew who he had to ask for help, he regretted it, but she held power, the power of who to send home, and she would listen to reason. It would mean becoming visible, but it was worth it, otherwise his friends would die and him with them down the road. He went and talked to the murderess. He spoke to her on her ground, from her position, he talked to her about how to view the game, how to view the path to the end. Anger was not the only way to vote, there was also strategy to consider. She needed shields, she needed people that she could have go before her. He explains to her that Hiro is not that for her, but Hiyoko is. He doesn't like to use this argument, but it will help Hiyoko survive. Sayaka also comes up as one of these, though he is not the only one to mention it, far from it. His arguments impress her, she votes for Hiro. And she gets away with it. Our hero did this, when it was critical, our pair failed when it was critcal. He bought him and his friends some time. He also works to ensure survival if not all goes well, if he loses them again, or if he has to sacrifice them as well. He might just have a chance to avenge his fallen friends, he still misses them.
The next two rounds go well and not well. The first, does not go his way. He bends over backwards trying to flip the murderess onto Sayaka by being open with Sayaka, as he knows that getting her out will save Hiyoko and that her plans will not go through easily. He is saddened when he fails, and the pair had a role, but the murderess is the reason I fail. I swear revenge again.
The next round, Sayaka falls, she wants to kill other people, but she has been untrustworthy to everyone it...is not a fun vote, but our hero goes through with it.
Final seven is now where we are. And now the pair has overlooked our hero. Despite working with Celestia and Kyoko, they have overshadowed him, as expected. After all, many of the people left have met them. And they have talked more to them, it is not a surprise. But this is good, it means that they underestimate him. Kyoko and Celestia won't be speaking of my value, not for a while, Akane has seen what he's capable of, but she wants him as shield. The vote goes crazily. Our hero's trio is outnumbered, they have made it further than we could have expected, but they will go no further. The pair is clearly against them, they know this, this vote comes down to Akane and Mikan. A lot of arguing about her vote goes on, I make plots, I almost succeed, but we must scramble, I try to get more time or know the situation, but Akane for once does not talk to Celeste until the end. Kyoko goes home. His friend is dead, so is that dream. But he can make it to the end. One more phase and he will only have people who want him there, it seems Mikan has fallen into the trap of underestimating our hero just because he didn't reveal his plans to her. The deck was stacked against them and they came close, it is regretable.
Final 6, our hero knows the murderess' time will come, but diversions must come. He and others spread rumors of idols, but our hero is smart. Him and Celestia work in concert, they do not vote into the idol, they control this vote, not the pair. The pair does not consider the idea of idoling out Mikan, why should they? The detective ends up regretting this. Our hero finally does it, at long last he avenges his friend, and the only people left want him to be there. One thing is left, figuring out who he can beat.
He knows he's been invisible. His friends have kept his secrets, they have not spoken of what he did, so only one of the people left know of him. But now it is time for a start to go out. He looks at his friend, his dearest friend. He knows she is too much of a rockstar, that with all he has done, she still has done more, and done better. He likes her, and so he lets her fight. He knows what she must do, and it is the right move, they both know it. But she is too loyal to turn on him. It is a sacrifce, the greatest of sacrifices, but for everyone else he has lost, it is worth it. Still she fights and she beats him, she has the votes the majority, she saved herself, but an idol from an old ally comes back. Sends her home. His old friends sent him a little help from beyond it seems.
Final 4 comes up and now everyone left doesn't think he's done shit when he's done so much. He is safe no matter what, but he wins immunity anyway, he is safe. He has made it, he looks at Mikan, he knows how dangerous quiet people can be. Maybe she's done much, maybe she's done little, but he votes her out. She think he doesn't stand a chance. She is wrong. It doesn't matter if she is right. He's made it, me made to FTC for them, he hopes they wanted him to make it. He's happy, that after everything that happened, that it was not all for naught, that he fucking made it when there was no good reason for him to.
Final Tribal Council comes and judgement is here. The pair reveal their game, they try not to appear they worked in concert, that the deck was stacked in favor of them from the start. They played the middle and made it, that is hard, but our hero didn't play the middle, he played his side, and made it, that is harder. But some don't believe him, despair creeps in....he doesn't know what else he could have done looking back .So he bursts forth explaining everything, and it turns out...the pair had no idea, they downplay their surprise. They downplay what they didn't know. But they underestimated him. They did have control over some things, but not as important as what our hero did. And now here we are.
