Do you all want to know a secret?
Putting parts of your speeches in spoilers doesn't make them actually shorter

Gundham starts his 6000-word essay (that's 24 double-spaced pages, y'all, or about 48 minutes if read out loud) with what he thinks the qualities of a winner are.
Has BROseidon taught you NOTHING?

I only started reading gundhams so far. I think the first part was unnecessary, about his survivor scorecard. Its an interesting read and he's a decent writer though, but i think it might help turn people off
I am looking forward to reading more.

Official results of the SPARKLING JUSTICE~! Word document test! I took each speech and pasted them, text only, into Word documents to see how long they are, then double-spaced each.
Gundham Tanaka: 8,430 words, 30 pages Nagito Komaeda: 1,675 words, 6 pages Shuichi Saihara: 2,575 words, 8 pages
And I don't know, Gundham could be the greatest writer ever, but to write something longer than any paper I ever wrote in university to win an online Survivor game? There needs to be some recalibration. I think it's going to tank his game.

It definitely sucks for it to be the FIRST THING greeting Nagito during Jury Questioning.
But Jurors Can Vote However They Want, and each juror has at least a little inkling to be ~iconic~ so punchy phrases like that feel really powerful and cool to say. But you're right, it doesn't give Nagito much of a path to respond. He has to infer how Sayaka wants to vote and describe how his game plays into those things. But spoiler: Sayaka clearly has no intention of voting for Nagito, so any answer is likely going to be rebutted with a snarky "hmph!" and a tut of the heel.

I kinda like this three questions per jury member thing. I recall one of the last games I played where someone asked like 15 questions in a row and the finalists were scrambling to answer just those questions alone, let alone 7 other jury member questions. I also this forces jury and finalists to have to really dig to what is important to earn their vote...
Only thing I don’t care for is how it also sets up a “speech to my question “ mentality for some.

Also I think it was stated earlier that “shuichi is knocking this out of the park.”
I don’t necessarily think thats true, but I still see people as predisposed to vote for him. I think Gundham and Nagito could still pull it out here if they can bring their A games. It just depends how Tracer1.0 Shuichi feels like going lol.

i have never had the patience to read those absurdly long speeches even as a juror. Putting a word count limit like in Rick and Morty BB is the way to go

I dont think gundham needed the section about what happened in the game 1. The jury knows 2. The jury can ask about it if its important. 3. Saying "i was buds with chihiro" doesnt mean anything to anyone, but saying "safety is one of my criteria for winning. I was safe because i worked hard to build a relationship with chihiro, a pillar in this game. People wanted to vote the way she did, so i invested hours in that relationship to make sure she never targetted me. Plus she was amazing to talk to!" Is a bit more impactful.

Putting a word count limit like in Rick and Morty BB is the way to go what I like about it though is that having no word limit isn't a luxury, it's another challenge. Now they have total freedom but have to decide what to put in and what to leave out. Some might get tempted to put in way too much, and writing too many words definitely means some of them will be skimmed or ignored or just garner a negative reaction from making people read so damn much.

on the topic of spoiler tags though I think for Gundham's im definitely not going to open the spoiler tags to start with and will just read the cliffs notes version, so i guess they do have some use!

This is all well and fair from a player's perspective. But as a spec I have ADHD and demand everything be short and quick so I don't get bored!!!!
