I haven't had as much time to talk with everyone here about who they would like to vote but I think I can see a general consensus. Still, I would love to spend a little time talking about who we think played the best game before we dive into this FTC.
What are your thoughts??
I should do mine first I suppose!
*Ahem*
Shuichi is my obviously choice to win, that probably isn't surprising to anyone but why am I picking him?
For starters, he was forced into a bad position yet still somehow managed to end up in a dominate one that controlled the flow of the game. Around F8, every vote just further ensured Shui as unstoppable and gave him a clear path to victory. There was no need for him to worry about his own safety as Nagito/myself/Akane/Saya all were on his side and until Celest was eliminated, none would really consider him a threat. Thats why he would shoot down ideas of people voting Celest and instead would just push for the easy option or compromise on a vote like Kyoko.
He even tried to vote me out at F5 despite no one really considering me a valid threat and Celest still being in the game because he assumed Celest was the weaker challenge performer between the two of us and thus easier to eliminate in Final 4. I mistakingly thought that at least Gundy would vote with me against Shui but more power to Shui, he had already convinced Gundy/Nagito that they were a solid F3 and that the all had a fair chance to win.
I don't want to take away from Gundham too much though, he did have a safe trip all the way to the end so I hope you guys at least consider his argument but the other two players played a passive game and tried to hide behind other players to reach the end. Nagito's plan of reaching F6 with two idols is very... obvious? Like yes, if I had idols my plan would be to use them last minute too... I mean, I did do that but playing an idol to get the end wasn't going to be what won me the game. Having the idol and using that to form a friendship with Akane might have but Nagito did nothing strategic and hid behind Shui who was the more visible player.
If Nagito had been willing to cut the person he was hiding behind, maybe I would have considered him a bigger threat but that's not what happened.... anyways, what are your thoughts?

gundham did play a good game, but i dont feel like it was a winning game like he wasnt really making moves and then stabbed me kinda hard qhile refusing to admit he was doing it he def deserves votes, but from my perspective he didnt play a nice game or a hard game. if any of the players can pull out some big moves they made behind the scene then thatll get my vote but right now it seems like they all played safe games without bothering to pull strings. it really feels like me and akane were the ones who were looking for the plays, and it didnt seem like they were trying to push us in the direction they wanted also nagito most likely wouldnt be in this game still if it wasnt for me deciding to defend him at f12 i dont think shuichi or gundham ever had a moment particularly like that? although nagito or shuichi wouldve been next boot if future foundation went back to FC

Shui definitely had moments where he could have left.... F7 was one of them as Akane almost voted Shui (I think?) and I certainly wanted too but was afraid of the greys have 3 at f6.

greys thing was slightly overrated bc i think gundham would have had no issue stabbing me at 5 also akane was the one that set up the vote on me largely by lying about what i said to shuichi and nagito

It may have been but because it was mentioned at the start of merge, I couldn't risk letting any "grey" take control of the game.

i was never going to stab either of them tbf and i doubt celes would either if gundham hadnt been kinda shady (i literally commented this day 1 in my confessional) it wouldve been an ironclad alliance and one that i think gundham has a better chance of winning than the current one me and celes' games were extremely intertwined, and while i think i played the better overall game of the two of us, celes was more popular so would have had some votes on lock, meaning that gundham could potentially clean up enough votes to beat me and celes in a votesplit

Right, it's like when people kept telling me that Akane was a bigger threat and I would lose if I was in an FTC with her. I kept thinking that they didn't understand the whole story...
People just get warped perceptions of things and then we as players have to adapt to that and respect their opinions otherwise you end up like me haha.
Shui did a good job of adapting to those changes.

I'm voting for suichi and basically nothing can change that. His game was leagues ahead of both gundham and nagito in basically every way.

Even though you left the game claiming Nagito was a threat to win for playing the middle?

Lol absolutely not. I just hated his play. Nobody likes him and suichi played his game but better. I was only ever gonna vote for you or suichi and figured my last action might as well be to give some credibility to future arguments against him, if you ever felt the need to make one.

i mean shuichi's winning this game with a lopsided margin but yeah whatever, might vote for whoever at this stage.
also gundham would have had no chance against celestia and you if he had gone with you. that's why my basic plan through the merge was to try and get gundham to like me enough to take me to the later stages and then backstab you guys. obviously i wasn't exactly playing well through the merge but it was a sound plan, and if i had a do-over where i would have either been nicer or leaked to celestia not at all or in a rational way, i could have done it to be honest. i do have the skills neccesary to do well in survivor, i just didn't display them here.

Am I the only one who doesn't have a favorite? I feel like I'm just getting more existential the closer ftc gets. Although maybe I'll Just Know who deserves it once I read through everything.
Nagito went to the fewest premerge TCs and was in a poor position on Future, albeit he seems to have contributed well to his tribes' challenge success
Gundham was definitely positioned the best in premerge, and going into merge knew fewer people as well as having lost two of the people he had spent the most time with (Leon; Makoto) but made the relationships necessary to get by
Shuichi I've talked about more in Hiro's thread, in danger at times and likely goes on Mediators had he not won individual immunity + potentially goes on Future too. But survived well on Black despite how bad that tribe looked on paper
Merge play, I'm less knowledgeable of than most of you

Just means you're going into this thing with an open mind , which is ideally where we should all be.

I'm really excited to read these speeches tbh.
And ya Kyoko you're right. Like if the tides had turned against you or Gundham, I would have had to accept that but I never would have voted either of you out. Like Gundham played a good game and a logical game and he was smart to push me to do all of his dirty work for votes for him. But idk if I want to reward that kind of game play. A game played in the shadows isn't as impressive as others in my opinion.
So ya my vote is on Shuichi, but maybe Gundham can spin this in a way to win me over.

I'm going in with an open mind but I also kind of don't want to vote for shuichi 'cause I'm a cynical bastard who roots against underdogs

I was wondering about that... Is shui an underdog just because of that breif period on mediators?

He came into future foundation as someone with no friends and was an easy vote, but he convinced all of us to keep him over TT who did have friends. He did a good job getting everyone to like him tbh. But he was originally an obvious vote

Oh FWIW I was never ever in a million years going to let Suichi go home on FF. I think we did a really good job keeping our relationship under wraps over there, but I 100% would have gone to bat for him if his name came up.
We'd gotten super tight during our time on the dragons. At the time I trusted him more than anyone. I was worried I'd permanently alienated Mikan after voting out Sonia and Gonta was gone. I'd had relationships from Kinpins, but none of them had been tested and I'm not a fan of untested relationships.
