institute a PM cap so that either they have to be inactive lurkers early game or by the time they reach the end they've used all their PMs and have to do everything in public threads

Mikan no ;-; my queen I'm glad she made it really far though From the looks of it Shoe has been cemented as the frontrunner. I feel like only a few hours ago it was all up in the air. Yeah that development was sudden. Before Yasuhiro's thread, he had the least jury support, and even after, he was just kind of pushing his way into the mix with the others. Surviving that battle with Mikan suddenly catapulted him to "Guy you should have voted out" status. But I do think Nagito can damage him some in the FTC, which will open things back up for Gundham as well. It's still going to be a suspenseful finish.

To be fair I don't think everyone was like that. Shoe is like the frontrunner here and I don't think he pms very fast (maybe he improved?) But like his pms were the most rare on mediators next to kirumi and i dont think hes the speed king still but hes quality not dissin But celes sort of pms like its a discord chat or something maybe idk never met but get that impression. It works really well with some people I guess I know they have like post limit games of mafia but idk how that could work for survivor. Maybe like minimalist survivor where you get 500 words a day and you gotta really make em count lol. Or like everyone can only login for two hours a day or something. See its kinda weird, maybe a forum site where you can add such weird arbitrary restrictiond. If you're in the game tho you just wanna get every advantage you can gogogo One world 2 tho I actually hope people take this to heart. I wanna see games where it's required to post PMs to confessionals, or other ways to restrict the use of PMs to bring conversations to equally private, yet spec-accessible areas. I hope future games note this advice.

this runs into the issue of people posting super duper high school private things to each other that they really don't want anyone else ever seeing

Juror threads are typically locked during final tribal council so the specs don't get spoiled on who wins
Posting all PMs to confessionals could get kind of tedious tbh.

I think pm counts are irrelevant, its love that counts. You can love someone without PMing them much and you can spam someone woth PMs and always plan to ditch them.
I dont actually think i had that many PMs with Tonks(1.0) and now we're fu...errr...having fun running a game together

this runs into the issue of people posting super duper high school private things to each other that they really don't want anyone else ever seeing I think a solution would be to somehow have lots of spec-viewable clique-type forums that people would default to using, since they know specs can see it. But then still leave PMs in there if they want to shift to something private. A whole ton of clique-type forums though would get rather burdensome. The task day setup of One World was quite fun though. But I agree that mass PMing isn't like a big advantage or anything. the game I backed into winning I think I was only over 250 PMs with one player and that person was voted out at F7.

It may be rather difficult to set up, but it could pay off in the end, especially for games with a high spec count, and a vibrant spec community with lots of extracurricular participation. If I ever run a game, it's something I'd definitely work toward.

Think of a tribe of 8, each player would need a subforum with every other player, and think of how many subforums that would leave you to navigate even as a spec, let alone to create and moderate for admins. 31 I think? and times 3 if there's three tribes... 93 communication subforums. Seems pretty unwieldy. And now there's a swap so you deactive like 50 of them and make 50 more.

That'd be tricky though

I can barely keep up with confessionals without having to try and read 90+ pm chains at the same time.
While being able to read PM's is a good thing, I know I skip over any threads that contain then on mass.

If everyone just went at my speed of maybe 100 PM's by the end of the game though... These big figures people quote make me thing I'm not active enough to actually play.

Only some of that delay is from walls with half the tribe.
But it's also why I like getting walls of nonsense up, otherwise the topics just die because I can't have good conversation at fast pace.

If everyone just went at my speed of maybe 100 PM's by the end of the game though... These big figures people quote make me thing I'm not active enough to actually play. Exactly. For me, it's just at a point where it's fun to talk about things and stuff but I've played so many games that I know these people and I also know that whatever we talk about in-game isn't likely to form a lasting friendship post-game, so it's all super low-stakes. Therefore, I feel and I know that I can accomplish the strategic notions of the game in only a few PMs each day at most. ...This clearly isn't the way things go though, so when push comes to shove I get voted out. But it's honestly not worth the effort to me to be fake interested in the things people share under the guise of someone else for the sake of an online game. It's things like this beaucoup numbers of PMs and 8000-word opening speeches that have made me realize playing these games is no longer for me.

Why is Gundham's speech so long??? My goodness. I have a high tolerance for long speeches but this is kind of beyond the pale lol

I was sending 1-2 PMs a day to each person (sometimes less) and I don't think anyone hated me for it. The whole spamming one liners thing is definitely not the only method that works. If you go for the slow PMing though you do need to make sure your PMs have enough substance to justify it.

Not sure how the jurors are going to take all of this of course, but so far from my perspective Shuichi is completely knocking this out of the park. The other two seem to have a strong lack of understanding of this jury.
