Any detective worth their salt is a master of logic and the art of deduction. Today, you've got to prove you belong by solving a weird murder mystery!
When you are ready, contact a mod to begin the challenge, as we have to run this one. You will be presented with a 5x5 grid of character names in Google Sheets. The character names are arbitrary. Each character is either innocent (I), a conspirator (C), or the killer (K). There is only one killer. Your job is to determine which is which.
You may guess the status of any character by posting to that effect, in a form like "Yui: C" or "Yui is the killer" or whatever works for you as long as it's clear. When you correctly assign a letter to a character, that character will usually give you a hint. You begin the game knowing the status of the top-left character, who will have already given you your first hint.
If you make a wrong guess, you must stop and your score is equal to the number of correct guesses you made. The free space is not worth a point and the killer is worth two points. The player with the highest score wins. Should there be a tie, the faster time wins. Because mod speed cannot be guaranteed consistent, time waiting for us to post will not count against you.
Couple notes:
1. "A main diagonal" refers to only the two lines of 5 cells A1-B2-C3-D4-E5 and E1-D2-C3-B4-A5. Lines of 4 or fewer cells do not count.
2. You may wish to re-familiarize yourself with what "orthogonally adjacent" and "diagonally adjacent" mean before you begin the challenge.
Here is what your spreadsheet will look like at the start:
You have 24 hours. Do not discuss the challenge until results are announced.
