Challenge 1 Twilight Syndrome Murder Case 2: Multiplayer Boogaloo Today we're going to take a leaf out of the book of everyone's favorite detective-based board game. That's right, it's... Android? Your tribe controls characters in a multiplayer Phoenix-Wright-type video game. Your objective is to prove your hunches correct, and disprove the hunches of the other tribes. However, there is no evidence in this case -- it's the perfect crime! Still, you just know your hunches are correct, so all you can do is play dirty to get the real killer behind bars. The suspects are as follows. Mahiru Koizumi Sato Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu Natsumi Kuzuryu Shmiyoko Shmionji Ibluki Blioda Several names have been changed to protect the innocent. You will "know" one of these characters to be guilty, and one to be innocent. No two tribes have the same guilty or innocent hunch. Each tribe will field two players at a time in this challenge. You can tag in and out at any time, though. Any posts by a third player on the same tribe will be ignored (until they are tagged in). Each tribe has a pool of 20 tokens: four 1-point tokens, three 2-point tokens, two 3-point tokens, one 4-point token, three -1 tokens, two -2 tokens, one -3 token, two alibi tokens, two perjury tokens. Each is randomly assigned a letter (A-T) so that your tribe knows which token is which, but other tribes don't know exactly what you're doing. If this is confusing, check your tribe forum in a couple minutes. Points represent guiltiness of a suspect. At the end, your tribe gains points equal to the number of points on your guilty hunch and loses points equal to the number of points on your innocent hunch. The tribes with the fewest points lose. In case of a tie, guilty hunches are worth more. If there is still a tie, the tied tribe(s) who most recently placed a token lose. Should your tribe run out of tokens before time is up, you get a new token pool identical to the first. Yes, this means the letter assignments are the same as well, so feel free to factor that into your strategy. Point tokens assign that many points to the suspect. Alibi tokens are worth -5. Perjury tokens change one alibi token on the suspect into a +5 instead of a -5. If there are not enough alibi tokens present on this suspect to do this, the perjury token acts as a -5 instead, so be careful! There are several actions you can take by posting accordingly. Point-scoring actions: (Using these actions in the right order is the only way to score points. You can also use them for obfuscating purposes, or even score points for another tribe.) Take evidence: Choose a token from your tribe's token pool. You must wait two minutes before taking another action. Once you have taken evidence, your other tribe members cannot take the same token. Plant evidence on {suspect}: Place your token on any suspect of your choosing. Your suspect choice is known to everyone. You must wait three minutes before taking another action. Lockdown actions: (These actions are used to stop other players from doing anything, or stop enemies from locking down your teammates.) Restrain {player}: Stops target, as well as yourself, from taking actions. You may only use this on a player who is not holding any evidence as well as not restraining anybody else mostly because that would turn out really silly. This action lasts until you release the player or another player frees them. You cannot take other actions while restraining a player or while being restrained. You must wait at least three minutes before using another action. (And, unless your target has been freed, the only action you can take is release.) Release {player}: Stop holding another player. This allows you to use other actions. You must wait at least five minutes before taking another restrain action, but otherwise can act after one minute. You may release players who are not on your tribe. Free {restrained player}: Undo restraint on another player. You cannot use this on yourself. You must wait three minutes before taking another action. Defensive action: (This action directly stops another tribe from scoring points or taking your points away.) Interfere with {player who is holding evidence}: Stop your target. This discards their evidence token (permanently -- it cannot be selected by that tribe again unless they use all their tokens first) and forces them to start over. You can only interfere with a player who has taken evidence but has not yet planted it. You must wait five minutes before taking another action. Take an action by declaring you are taking it in bold. Use these exact phrases with the names substituted out for the appropriate ones: {Monokuma} takes evidence token {Z}. {Monokuma} plants evidence on {Mikan Tsumiki}. {Monokuma} restrains {Monomi}. {Monokuma} releases {Monomi}. {Monokuma} frees {Junko Enoshima}. {Monokuma} interferes with {Makoto Naegi}.And, as previously mentioned, you can also Tag out for {tribe member} and have another tribe member take your place. Once you tag in, you must play for half an hour before you can tag out again (to prevent abuse). Just be sure to remember that if someone tags out while restrained, they are still restrained, and any restrictions on their next chance to use an action are still in place. Once the challenge starts, tribe members who are currently tagged out may not discuss the challenge other than the possibility of them tagging in, but until it starts you may all strategize together. Brackets are optional. Player last names are optional. Punctuation is optional. Exactly correct spelling is required, so feel free to try to trip up your opponents with intentional misspellings. Use of font color changes and text alignment changes is allowed. Font size changes are not allowed, nor are spoiler tags or anything I didn't just explicitly allow. You can't have more than one thing that looks like an action in a single post (no misspelling the same action 20 different ways...). Any action that is invalid for any reason -- misspelling, too soon relative to the period that player needed to wait, the user doesn't realize they are restrained, they choose a token that is not in their pool, etc. -- is treated as though it were not posted at all. The mods will answer questions when possible, but will not be keeping track of what actions have succeeded or failed and will not let you know what tokens you have left or how many are on each suspect -- that's your job, and paying attention to detail is part of this challenge! We will only tally everything up at the end. So make sure you format your actions properly and keep track of what's going on! If, for instance, you try to reuse your tokens when you still have one token in your token pool, you'll just be wasting your time, since it doesn't refresh until you use them all. We promise the complexity level of this challenge is not going to be typical. The challenge starts at X:00 PM on Day and will last two hours. (The challenge takes place in this thread.) Then, the two tribes with the least points (tribes' final scores will be determined by summing all the tokens on both of their suspects, with all values on the innocent suspect counting negatively) will head to their first Class Trials. Please be patient with us after the challenge ends, as we expect it could take an hour or more to tally.

Each tribe is given a list of several made up students, and must come up with 3 additional students to try and blend in with those. For the second phase, tribes are given a list of the two other tribes' sets, with their fake submissions added. Tribes must submit a list of all the students in order of most likely to be one of the impostors to least likely. For every rank fourth and beyond guessed, the tribe gets a point. Whichever tribe has the most points will be attending tribal council, the other two will win immunity. In case of a tie, please answer the following question along with your bio submissions: How many words total will be contained in the bios submitted by all three tribes? You have 24 hours to submit your student bios and will then have 24 more to submit your guesses. Your list of students will be posted in your tribe forums shortly.

If you wanna be a member of this outfit, this evil organization that rules the world, you gotta show that you're willing to do what it takes -- anything, no questions asked. When you're ready to begin this challenge, use this Google form to start your time. You'll be given some instructions and a bunch of tasks to perform. That's all you get to know right now! The D.I.C.E. initiation process is shrouded in secrecy, you understand, but you've gotta be ready for anything. None of that "studying" crap you hear so much about. You may want to have some image editing software handy. The tribe with the fastest average time and the individuals on each losing tribe with the best times win immunity. That means two tribes will lose .24 hours to start your time. No discussing the challenge until results go up -- what did I *just* say about secrecy?

Labors of Kirumi Your next immunity challenge is to put on this French Maid outfit. Whichever one of you looks the best gets immunity for your tribe! Upupupu~ No? We ran out of outfits? Fine... I suppose we can do our less sexy backup challenge. You must all dance for my amusement! When your tribe is ready, you will be given access to a subforum with many threads, each containing a task. The goal is to try to complete as many of them as possible within one hour. If both tribes successfully complete all tasks, then the tribe who completed them fastest will win immunity. The tasks may be puzzles, riddles, posting challenges, writing, or a number of other things. Upon completion, post your answer as a reply in the task thread. You have 24 hours to start this challenge.

Rise and shine, ursine! It's time for a test of wits like no other. One that might have you jumping for joy...right off the roof of Hope's Peak Academy! There will be no trial today. Instead, the student who performs the worst on this challenge will be eliminated. Doesn't that thought just fill you with despair? In order to stay in this game, you must sacrifice a classmate by performing better than them. In a way, that makes you all murderers! We also have some motives for completing this challenge... an unknown number of prizes for the top scorers. Just a little extra incentive to trip your friends while you're all running from the wolves... because of this, the results will not be posted in full -- to protect the identities of the reward winner(s). The rewards are all different, and higher placers will get more reward options, but won't know exactly what they're choosing until they choose it. Here is how this challenge works: Junko has a special surprise for you! You get to further the aims of Ultimate Despair! Congratulations. All you have to do is watch this video and...wait! This isn't right. The video is all scrambled, and what's worse, it's mixed with a terrible video about hope. Your job is to separate the two and put them both in the right order by giving the letters that appear on each clip. The letters are all in the same place, but may appear to move around or shrink or change color if the brainwashing is working as intended. [This is a joke, they're not in the same place and will change color. Some letters may be cut off a bit, but you can still tell what they are.] When you're ready, you will use this Google form to get links to the two source videos and the challenge video. Post your answer in your confessional to stop your time, in bold. Don't forget, you need to unscramble both videos separately! Make sure it's clear how you separated the two. Number of correct responses is the first criterion, followed by time. The worst performer will be executed. Important note: completing the challenge does unscramble the brainwash video and may doom mankind. But what's a little despair among friends? Puhuhuhuhu! Good luck...

Nekomaru's Team Manager Everyone's favorite game is back! I determined what everyone's favorite was based on how much they talked about it. That seems legit, right? Anyway, let's construct some teams for some ambiguous sport that could definitely be anything. Maybe it's a Killing Sports Game? I don't know man, I'm just trying to be on brand here while also making you miserable. Prove your leadership abilities in Nekomaru's Team Manager! Team Construction RulesEvery team must have 18 players. Any tribe that does not sign 18 players successfully will automatically be eliminated from the challenge. Your soccer team will consist of your starting 11 and your subs. When building your team, you must abide by the following rules: 1) Your starting 11 must form a strategically sound formation. Sport formations can be found here (see the "alignment" dropdown). Note that the two formations under "classic" will not be accepted because they're not real formations. However, we've simplified this process. All players are goalkeepers (GK), defenders (CB, LB, RB), midfielders (CDM, CAM, CM, LM, RM), or strikers (ST, RW, LW). You can play any striker at any striker position and so on with no penalty. No need to pay attention to the letters on all those circles, just note the numbers in the dropdown menu. "5-3-2" just means 5 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 strikers. 2) Your sub bench must have at least 1 goalie and may not have two players playing the same position (exact position titles do matter for this one). 3) You have a salary cap of 3.5 million. You may not at any point have players whose combined salaries are above this amount. 4) You may only have up to 3 players whose salary is $450,000. 5) You may have up to 8 international (not American or Canadian) players. The PlayersPlayers will be presented to you in the following format: Name - Strength - Salary - Country Your current players, remaining salary cap, and international slots remaining are up to you to track. Assessing Team StrengthAt the end of the five rounds of puzzling, all teams' strengths will be assessed. Your starting 11 players count for their full strength, and subs count for 75% of their strength. In addition, if you need a player to play in a position other than what is listed in order to follow team rules 1 and 2, any player may be played out of position, but they will only count with 75% strength. Acquiring PlayersThere are two ways to acquire players: 1) Complete jigsaw puzzles to acquire players. The mods will post a very large number of jigsaw puzzles in this thread, along with an associated player for each puzzle. When you finish a jigsaw puzzle, post the completed version in the thread along with the name of the corresponding player (so other tribes can tell what you claimed) to sign that player. 2) A few players will be hidden around the forum at the start of the challenge. If you find anything suspicious, post it in the challenge thread! The two tribes that perform best will be immune from this round of Class Trials. We will run this challenge live if we can get enough players. We'd like to have 3 or 4 players from each tribe participating, but if that's not possible we will run it with 2. If we can't get 2, we will alter this challenge to a semi-live version.

We're going to be playing a game you may know as Sushi Go. If you spend your time playing card games like some kind of nerd, anyway. We will run 4 games of 4-player Sushi Go. {X} is sitting out for {A}, {Y} for {B} and {Z} for {C}. Here's how it works. Each player begins with a hand of 7 cards. For your turn, all you need to do is select one card. You put this card in front of you and pass the other cards to the next player. You then receive a hand of 6 cards, and so on. It's pretty simple! Your goal is to assemble a collection of cards that will score you the most points! Each game will play three rounds. Here are the cards. Maki Roll (1, 2, 3): At the end of the round, 6 points go to the player with the most Maki Rolls and 3 to the player with the second most. Each Maki Roll card has 1, 2 or 3 rolls Makis on it. Sashimi: Collect 3 Sashimi for 10 points. If you don't get to 3, they aren't worth anything! Tempura: Collect 2 Tempura for 5 points. One alone is worth nothing. Wasabi: The next Nigiri card you draft is worth triple its value. Does nothing on its own. Nigiri (1, 2, 3): Worth the number of points it says on the card -- 1, 2 or 3. Dumpling: Each time you draft a Dumpling, you get 1 more point from it than the last Dumpling you drafted. So 1 is worth 1, 2 are worth 3 total, 3 are worth 6 total (1+2+3), etc. Chopsticks: When you draft a card, if you have Chopsticks on the table already, you may use it to draft a second card as well. If you do, Chopsticks is added to the hand you pass along. Pudding: Does not go away at the end of each round. At the end of the game, the player with the most pudding gets 6 points and the player with the least loses 6 points. The contents of the deck are as follows: [contents of deck] 3 Puddings are added to the deck between each round, while any Puddings you gather are not shuffled back in. At the end of 3 rounds, the scores are tallied. Placements within your game are not important, your score will just contribute to your tribe's score. So make sure to score as many points as you can! However, if a tie could be broken by summing placements within each game, we will use that metric to do so. All 4 games have the same decks and starting hands, and each tribe will have each starting position in one game. This ensures that everyone has a fair shot! It also means that players whose games have started may no longer discuss strategy. We would like to run this semi-live if possible. Based on the availability you filled out, we have assembled groups that we hope will be able to find a time to play together. We anticipate this taking up to 2 hours.

Mass Panic Debate! You all should now have access to a new subforum for your tribe. Starting now, you can fill this subforum with whatever you like, so long as you adhere to the school rules. You have roughly 24 hours to collectively do so. However, you must hide an image somewhere in one of your posts. The image will look like this, and we will post the links you need to use in your tribe forum momentarily. You'll need to verify with a mod that your image appears somewhere in the subforum and is possible to find. One rule we have to make is that you cannot create anything that looks like the image but isn't. Furthermore, the image cannot be altered or have its size changed. Then, after 24 hours, you'll need to schedule a time with the mods to attempt the challenge as a tribe. You'll then be given access to the other forum and have to find the other tribe's image. Post it in your tribe forum and the mods will give you the password to get into the Audience subforum, which the spectators have filled with garbage. Sharing this password where the other tribe can see it is forbidden. You'll be looking for the same image, but of course the link will be different. When you find it, post that image in your tribe forum to stop your time. Whichever tribe finds the final image faster wins immunity.

Ultimate Cube Folder What the heck's a cube folder? Why is that an ultimate talent? Don't tell me this is one of those stupid challenges where the mods got lazy and just pasted images from the theme onto something... For this challenge, you will look at cubes with different designs on each face. You will be given a list of possible answers. When folded, only one should match up correctly to form the cube. You will get several of these: And you will need to select which unfolded cube is the one that corresponds to that cube. The player who finishes this task with the most correct answers in the fastest time will win immunity. To start, go to this google form, enter your name, and begin. You have 24 hours to complete this challenge.

Dive deep into your subconscious, and you might be surprised what answers you can find! When in doubt... reason it out! I should make a song about that. Today we'll be playing Password, but you'll all be able to work together to bring out everyone's hope! You'll each be given three secret words and a turn order will be posted in your tribe forum. When it's your turn, you can either give a clue about your word, or try to guess one of your tribemates' words. Each player's first word has to be guessed before their next one is in play, so just give clues about the one you're on at the moment, okay? You are welcome to organize some kind of method of keeping track of your guesses in your tribe forum, as well as who's on which word. If someone is still on their first word while the rest of you have moved on, it might be a good idea to focus on that word, because everyone needs to finish. Once all your words are solved, you still are part of the turn order and can only guess. Clue rulesClues must be one word (i.e. in the dictionary), cannot rhyme with the word, cannot contain the word, and cannot be any form of the word. Synonyms are okay. Proper nouns are not allowed. Clues that break these rules will incur a four-turn penalty and waste your turn. GuessingWhen you guess, make sure it's clear whose word you are guessing. For instance, you might say something like, " Junko's word is despair." Since she is way too into that whole schtick, that would obviously be right, so Junko or a mod will let you know it's right, and her next word will be in play. If you guess wrong, play still passes to the next person. If you guess the wrong form of the right word -- say "drive" instead of "driving" -- that still counts as right. All official submissions must be bolded. That way, there's no confusion about whether you meant to guess or not. Also, make sure it's clear whether you're giving a clue or a guess! There's no penalty for messing this up, but it will make things take longer. However, you aren't allowed to talk together about what words might be or discuss clues at all; discussion must be limited to organizing and coordinating times for everyone to be on. Discussion of the game will incur a four-turn penalty. You don't all have to be on at once to do this, you have the full time to take your turn whenever you like, but if you are able to coordinate a time for everyone to be around, you'll probably have an easier time of finishing within the time constraints. Assuming both tribes finish guessing all the words, whichever does so in fewer guesses wins immunity. In the event of a tie, the side with more penalties loses. If this still doesn't resolve things, we will go to a tiebreaker. Finally, only 5 players from each tribe are needed. Feel free to determine how to do this based on your schedules. Please try to get this done in 24 hours if possible, but we will definitely give an extension if it's needed. -- words: stream flight rigid bomb suffer rain sincere country anger boat majestic blue endorse sleep bone sugar health describe

Warriors of Boom This game requires you to answer trivia questions. You are not allowed to use google or any other outside resource. You must answer these based on your knowledge. You may not discuss the questions. You may not do anything to answer these questions apart from using your own knowledge. Each tribe will be given several categories. You must decide between yourselves which categories to give each player. Once each player has their categories, they will be given the questions for that category. Each question will have several answers, which are represented as wires attached to the bomb. Your goal is to defuse the bomb by selecting the correct answers to the questions. You must list the answers you wish to select for each question, which will be the wires you cut. For each correct answer to the question you provide, you will earn n points, where n is the number of correct answers. Thus, if you provide two correct answers, you will receive 1 point for the first answer, and 2 points for the second answer, for a total of 3 points. The more correct answers you provide, the better your score. However, if you select even one wrong answer for a question, the bomb goes off, and you will receive 0 points for that question. When all players have answered their questions, the total points will be added together for the tribe. The tribe with the best score will win, while the other will face a Class Trial. The category options are as follows: Li'l Ultimate Social Studies (History & Culture) Li'l Ultimate Drama Li'l Ultimate Art (& Music) Li'l Ultimate P.E. (Sports & Health) Li'l Ultimate Homeroom (Grab Bag) Li'l Ultimate English (Literature & Grammar) Li'l Ultimate Science (Physics, Chemistry, & Biology) You have 36 hours to assign your categories and answer the questions.

You will be given a maze, with images on it. Your goal is to find the path for your psyche taxi that goes from the square labeled entrance to the square labeled exit. You will need image editing software for this one. Posting a completed maze in your forum stops your time. The player who completes the maze in the fastest time will win immunity. If no player manages to solve the maze, the player who gets the farthest will win immunity. A further tie will be broken by who got the farthest the fastest. We aren't going to tell you exactly what the rules for solving this maze are -- you have to figure it out. Draw a line from each item to represent movement and submit an image of the completed maze (i.e. with your path drawn on it) in your confessional. You have 24 hours to start the maze.

You will fill in a blank grid which you'll fill in using clues we give you. What you'll need to do is place pairs of colored endpoints on the grid using these clues. Each pair of matching endpoints are the same color. You will need to fill in every single square in the grid to solve the puzzle, connecting each endpoint with an unbroken line of the same color. An example of a correctly solved puzzle is below. So basically, in order to set up this puzzle, you need to answer questions about the game. The answer will be binary and will tell you what color endpoint to place and where. Example of a clue you might have: "If Monokuma is the best mod and greatest being in existence, put a red endpoint on square A1. If not, put a pink endpoint on square B2." In that scenario, the first statement is false, since Monomi is obviously the best mod, so you would need to put a pink endpoint on square B2. Once all the endpoints are placed, solve the puzzle. The winner is determined as follows: Most endpoints in the correct places > fewest mistakes in endpoint colors > puzzle solved correctly? (just yes or no) > time. Here's your blank grid: If you prefer, you can use a different 12x6 grid. The letters and numbers on the rows and columns will be used to denote locations on the board. When you're ready, use this form to get your prompts.

To finally defeat an opponent who is unwilling to listen to your arguments, you must strip away their defenses by playing a rhythm game. Yeah, that sentence is a little too anime, but too bad. We'll be playing Flash Flash Revolution. If you've ever heard of Dance Dance Revolution, it's that but with a keyboard. If you haven't: you want to press the appropriate arrow keys on your keyboard when each arrow moving across the screen lines up with the arrow outlines at the top. In theory, this approximately aligns with the music. You will need Flash for this challenge, and having your computer's volume on is highly recommended. You can find the game here. Practicing is allowed. We recommend you make sure the game works before trying the challenge, at least! When you're ready, fill out this google form. It will tell you what song we will be using for the challenge, and at that time, you will have 15 minutes to submit your score. You should be able to find the appropriate song by using the in-game search function. This means you only have a few tries to get it right. Submit a screenshot of the post-song score screen in your confessional. The screenshot should contain a Mafiascum or Survivor: Killing School Semester tab. Don't use the in-game Screenshot button. Make sure you are using the R^3 engine (the one that will load up if you use the above link). The highest score wins immunity. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker procedure is as follows: Best Combo > Least Boos > Most Amazings & Perfects > Fastest Time (to submit) You have 24 hours.

Are You an Esper? This challenge requires you to answer a series of 20 questions. However, you shouldn't necessarily answer honestly -- instead, we want you to try to read the minds of the other players. Then we'll know for sure that the winner is an esper. In essence, we are playing a modified version of What Were You Thinking. You will answer all of the questions at once, and they will then be processed in order, starting with Question 1. Your goal is to avoid having the least popular answer(s). You score points for each answer you give equal to the number of players who gave that answer, so long as that number is at least 2. Lone answers score no points. Instead of the usual "drop a level" system, you will simply be eliminated from contention if your score for a round is worse than any other player's. Your remaining answers will still be used to score the remaining rounds. Ideally, one player will drop out each round, so we should only need about 9 rounds, but if there is a tie for the worst performance in a round among still-surviving players, no one will be eliminated. Should more than one player survive all 20 questions, we will use total score as a tiebreaker. You may not discuss the challenge in any way with your fellow competitors until the results are posted. The use of outside sources for this challenge are strictly forbidden. Here are the prompts: 1. Name five colors. 2. What are the four most culturally significant cities in the world? 3. Which three challenges in this game have been the best ones? 4. Name four marine animals. 5. Name five elements of the periodic table. 6. Rise and Rhyme, Ursine! It's an endurance competition! But we're not going to make things easy for you would-be Veto winners! That would be an ur-sine of the apocalypse! When you are ready, submit this google form. You'll get a list of topics which you'll have to write about. You may choose to tackle the topics in any order you choose. But that's not all -- that would be berry boring. A grizzly fate. Every two minutes, you must post a rhyming couplet about the current topic. You may not use the same word twice on any one topic. Each topic requires one additional couplet -- so for your first topic, you will post one couplet. Two minutes later, you would post the first of two couplets about a second topic. Two minutes after that, you would post another couplet about topic #2. Then, two minutes after that, you would move to the first of three couplets about topic 3, and so on. You may post at any time in a two-minute block after your previous post. So if you made your first post at 12:00:30, the next one could be posted at 12:01 or 12:02 so long as it was up at 12:02:30 at the absolute latest. However, your next two-minute block starts when you post, so it would be to your advantage to cut it as close as you can without making a mistake. Couplet rules: Must be presented on exactly two lines Must rhyme the last word (slant rhymes are fine -- as long as it looks like you tried) of each line Must have at least six syllables per line (words with an unclear number of syllables will be ruled in your favor) Must include at least one bear-related word (again, as long as it looks like you tried; feel free to generate a list of bear-related words before you start!); puns are encouraged but not required Must form complete thoughts which at least vaguely make sense Must be on topic We hope that isn't too polar-izing! You can look up information about the topics if you want, but of course, no plagiarizing your poetry. We'd appreciate it if you could identify which topics you chose after you finish. In the event that you somehow manage to finish the topic list, you can make up your own topics. Whoever lasts for the longest amount of time before making a mistake or missing a post wins the Power of Veto.

Gonta gentleman! Gonta introduce friends to bugs at bug meet and greet networking event! Then everyone friends with bugs like Gonta is! It's time to test your bug identification skills! When you are ready, you will be given a link to a google form with several images of bugs. You can use google to help you figure out what the bugs are. You may not perform any reverse image searches or use any other method of outside assistance, but it shouldn't help anyway. Put your answers in the form and submit it to stop your time. For some questions, denoted by a "B" next to the question number, a bonus point is available for an extra-specific answer. For these questions, a correct but non-detailed answer is worth one point, while a more specific answer is worth two. For instance, with this image as a prompt, "chameleon" would be worth one point, while "Jackson's chameleon" would be worth two. We're generally looking for a specific adjective with these: what kind of ant, or worm, or whatever? The most points in the fastest time wins. You may find that we have taken some... interesting measures to prevent reverse image searches from helping. Please ignore these measures, they are obviously not part of the bug. The winner will be crowned the best gentleman and best friend to bugs and will be rewarded with a bug infestation in their dorm! I suppose they also win immunity. You have 24 hours to get this challenge started. goo.gl/forms/TGHkOubNZy6qdSnD3answers: 1) thread-waisted wasp 2) firefly 3) water strider 4) dipluran 5) rhinoceros beetle 6) fruit fly 7) weevil 8) painted lady butterfly 9) stink bug 10) honey bee

Any detective worth their salt is a master of logic and the art of deduction. Today, you've got to prove you belong by solving a weird murder mystery! When you are ready, contact a mod to begin the challenge. You will be presented with a 5x5 grid of character names in Google Sheets. The character names are arbitrary. Each character is either innocent (I), a conspirator (C), or the killer (K). There is only one killer. Your job is to determine which is which. You may guess the status of any character by posting to that effect, in a form like " Yui: C" or "Yui is the killer" or whatever works for you as long as it's clear. When you correctly assign a letter to a character, that character will usually give you a hint. You begin the game knowing the status of the top-left character, who will have already given you your first hint. If you make a wrong guess, you must stop and your score is equal to the number of correct guesses you made. The free space is not worth a point and the killer is worth two points. The player with the highest score wins. Should there be a tie, the faster time wins. Because mod speed cannot be guaranteed consistent, if any times on tied points are within 10 seconds of the winning time, we will go to a tiebreaker. Couple notes: 1. "A main diagonal" refers to only the two lines of 5 cells A1-B2-C3-D4-E5 and E1-D2-C3-B4-A5. Lines of 4 or fewer cells do not count. 2. You may wish to re-familiarize yourself with what "orthogonally adjacent" and "diagonally adjacent" mean before you begin the challenge. Here is what your spreadsheet will look like at the start: You have 24 hours for now, though we may extend this if necessary. Do not discuss the challenge until results are announced. I have a beary special maze for you to complete! Puhuhuhu~ Your goal is to navigate Chiaki through the dangerous maze. To do so, you will give directions to her. Starting at the spot labeled entrance, you will guide her. However, there are colored gates that are impassable until you've touched a square with a corresponding power-up. When you touch such a square, you can then walk to a gate of that color to lower it. You then lose the power, and must touch a power-up square again to lower another gate of that color. Once a gate is lowered, it is gone forever. The power-up spots are permanently in play, so you can use the same one as many times as you like. To win immunity, you must post a valid list of instructions. The possible instructions are "north," "south," "east," and "west." Shorthand instructions such as "north 3 times" are fine but that would count as 3 instructions. There is no need to indicate when you are gaining a power-up or lowering a gate. Here is a pair of regular rooms with regular gates. You can only travel by going through gates -- so, for example, you couldn't travel north in either room because that's a wall, not a gate. This is what a locked gate looks like. You initially cannot pass through this gate from left to right (i.e. in the direction the arrow points) unless you have the red power-up. Once you lower this gate once, it stays lowered forever.Whoever completes the maze in the fewest moves wins. If there is a tie, we will use time. If no one provides a valid solution, whoever made it the farthest without screwing up will win, with ties again broken by submission time.

Gambling for Fun and Profit with Celestia Ludenberg
You will be presented with a racetrack board. At the start, it looks like this.
As you can see, the track is made up of a number of spaces. Each round, each horse moves a predetermined number of spaces, with a minimum of 0 and maximum of 3.
When the challenge begins, players may begin to bet on the horses. Players may place bets until the challenge ends and the race is complete. There will be 8 betting rounds, and in each round you may bet up to three coins in any distribution you see fit. You have 20 coins in total and bets cannot be withdrawn.
The winning horse pays out 2:1. So for each coin you bet on it, you triple your money. The second place horse pays out 3:2, so it returns 150% of bets. All other bets are lost. Any player who kept some of their coins does count those toward their final score.
At predetermined times, the positions of the horses are announced. This will occur roughly every 3 minutes. Each of these posts indicates the end of one betting round and start of the next one.
When we begin, you will also be presented with a set of cryptograms. These cryptograms represent clues about the race. Using all of the decoded cryptograms, it is possible to logically conclude which horse wins the race. The alphabet is not consistent across the cryptograms; treat each as a separate puzzle. No outside sources are permitted in this challenge and no communicating about the challenge is allowed during it.
The horses are named and numbered as follows.
1 The Mad Trotter 2 Mr. Edlicious 3 Hay Girl Hay 4 Big Sebastian 5 Nightmare 6 Sir Neighs-A-Lot 7 Horse O'War 8 Son of Pegasus
The player with the most coins at the end wins immunity. In the event of a tie, bets on the third place horse will be the first tiebreaker, followed by which player first bet on the winning horse. We will now have a question period.

When you are ready to start your time, you will be given the password to the Class Trial forum. There, you will find a story about a murder that has taken place. The story will contain several "truth bullets" that have information relating to the crime. After the story, the characters will participate in a debate. In each round, you must find the contradiction or the important point in their statements based on information gained during this challenge and use the right truth bullet to push things forward. This may mean contradicting a lie or illogical statement, or supporting a statement that is accurate. If you think you have found it, you can try to prove it to advance the story. Some statements will have a part that is in between square brackets '[' ']' which are locationswhere a truth bullet may contradict what is said. Some things will be in curly braces '{' '}' and a truth bullet you have may corroborate what is said. [] means you disagree, {} means you agree. Either could be the correct answer to the nonstop debate. The password will be the phrase in brackets you wish to prove or disprove, an underscore, then an underlined bunch of letters on the truth bullet. It will look like this: "thestatement_bullet" all lower case. Everything will be lowercase. Names, bullets, statements all lowercase. Behind the password protection will be more to the story and more statements to refute. When you figure out the next password, you will input it the same way. Eventually, behind one of the forums, you will find a puzzle called "closing argument." You will find a quiz on the events. You will need to put this into your confessional, and fill in the blanks. When you think you have all the answers correct, post that you are done in bold to stop your time. If you get stuck and cannot get past a certain point, take a screenshot of the forum you are stuck on and post that you are done in order to stop your time. The winner of this immunity will be the one who gets the most questions correct on the final quiz in the closing arguments section. In case of a tie, the winner will be the one who finished the fastest. If no one made it to the end, the winner will be the one who got the farthest the fastest. Please fill out this google form when ready. It will give you a password to the forum to start your time. You have 24 hours to find a time to do this, but this challenge may take a while, so if you need more time, let us know.

Pyramid of Hope
How much have you been paying attention? It's time to find out!
When you're ready to begin, fill out the google form to start your time. You will be given a puzzle to solve, and images of every eliminated player in the game.
The puzzle will consist of facts that will correspond to one or two of the eliminated players. The facts are arranged in a pyramid. On the edges, one player will apply, and in the middle, two players will apply. You will need to put the pictures of the corresponding eliminated players in the right spots so that the facts will apply. Be careful, as there can be more than two answers that fit, but there should be only correct solution to each row. You cannot use the same person more than once in each row.
When you finished, post in your confessional to lock in your time. Do not post until you are finished.
Whomever finishes with all correct in the fastest time will win immunity. If no one gets them all correct, then whoever gets the most right will win. Ties will be broken by fastest time.
You have 24 hours to start this challenge.

You will be playing a word game known as Figure It Out. For this challenge, you will begin when you contact a moderator. You'll want to coordinate a time to work on this together, since the tiebreaker is time. Only three players from each tribe may participate in this challenge, since, yknow, that seems to be how many we've got. This challenge consists of two rounds. Each round, the players on the tribe will ask yes or no questions in order to try to determine a phrase that the moderators have selected. You will know in advance how many words are in the phrase and it may have a few words filled in (and, or, if, etc). When any word is used in a question, it is also guessed as being part of the phrase and will be revealed if it is present in the phrase. A moderator will give answers to the questions until the other players have correctly figured out the phrase. Then this process is repeated for the second round with a new phrase. In addition, in each given phrase, the mod answering the questions will be posing as a specific person, to whom the phrase relates. The person may be real or fictional but is in some way related to the theme of "Ultimates"...which basically just means they're pretty good at one or more things. You may also ask questions about this person. Questions must be somewhat coherent in order to be accepted and answered. For example, "Are you a musician?" would be valid, as would "Does the phrase have something to do with animals?". A clearly grammatically incorrect string of unrelated words is not a question. Do not copy the dictionary or do anything that appears to be an attempt to game the system. If a moderator deems a question too close to doing this, the question will count against you but will not be answered or count towards the displayed words. In addition, the moderators have decided on a secret action. Any time the guessers perform this action (it can be saying a specific word, posting at a specific time, or something like that), you will be alerted, and you will get a penalty of one additional guess. The action is the same for both phrases. When both phrases have been guessed, the tribe will be done with the challenge. The two tribes that take the fewest questions (including penalties) will win Immunity, with the other tribes going to Class Trial. The tiebreaker will be the fastest time winning. You have 24 hours to begin the challenge but that's in no way a hard deadline. If you can do it in the morning or afternoon, that would be swell as we have plans after 5:00 eastern, but we'll make it work somehow or make some other schmuck do it.
