Gonta gentleman! Gonta introduce friends to bugs at bug meet and greet networking event! Then everyone friends with bugs like Gonta is! It's time to test your bug identification skills! At the bottom of this post is a google form with several images of bugs. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU OPEN THE LINKS IN NEW TABS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO SUBMIT THE FORM 10 TIMES. You can use google to help you figure out what the bugs are. You may not perform any reverse image searches or use any other method of outside assistance, but it shouldn't help anyway. Put your answers in your confessional to stop your time. For some questions, denoted by a "B" next to the question number, a bonus point is available for an extra-specific answer. For these questions, a correct but non-detailed answer is worth one point, while a more specific answer is worth two. For instance, with this image as a prompt, "chameleon" would be worth one point, while "Jackson's chameleon" would be worth two. We're generally looking for a specific adjective with these: what kind of ant, or worm, or whatever? The most points in the fastest time wins. You may find that we have taken some... interesting measures to prevent reverse image searches from helping. Please ignore these measures, they are obviously not part of the bug. The winner will be crowned the best gentleman and best friend to bugs and will be rewarded with a bug infestation in their dorm! I suppose they also win immunity. 1st and 2nd... Celes and Gundham both scored 13 out of a possible 14 points. Who did it faster? ![]()  With a time of under 40 minutes (vs. about 80 minutes), Celes wins immunity! The answers were: Thread-Waisted Wasp (accepted Mud Dauber) Firefly Water Strider Dipluran (accepted japygid) Rhinoceros Beetle Fruit Fly Weevil Painted Lady Butterfly Stink Bug Honey Bee Gundham misidentified the butterfly variety while Celes had the wrong type of fly. |
