Nagito has been ready to turn on the greys for a while now, he's just been waiting for the right time. He lent his support in voting out Hiyoko, so I believe it is always a yes from him.

Hey im back and it looks like our options are wide open.

She was in very very real danger of being voted out on gold. The flip to Gonta was a last minute panicked descision between Celeste, Ibuki and I.

and FWIW, there is a nonzero probability Gonta had an idol. None of us let him see it coming and there is no way he could have predicted that flip. Kyoko was borderline inactive (busy at music festival) and Gonta was telling me there was no way he was going out before the vote.
