Yeah, Celes voting me is understandable. At least things wont be awkward now that the lines are drawn.

Ok, I've seen the first 3 cases so far. What is this. This is brutal to watch. I loved Taka and Mondo and I couldn't stand the heartbreak over him losing his friend like that. Celestia is a bit of a psycopath and she's been the only death I haven' really felt bad for. Hifumi I guess I feel a little bad for, but he rubbed me the wrong way.
I knew Celestia and Leon were the murderers pretty quick. I appreciate that they don't make it impossible to figure out like a lot of detective stories. A lot throw in so many red herrings that it's impossible to figure it out on your own before the reveal, but these if you put the clues together you can actually figure it out for yourself. But the second case was the best written for sure in my opinion. Lots of interesting reveals and twists, and Mondo being the killer was both heartbreaking but it made sense. It's just... this story is depressing. It's hard to watch people die.
I had a pretty big problem with Sakura because she wasn't a high school student, but now that we've been told she's maybe the mole (?) that might make more sense and I can appreciate her more. Yasuhiro is basically my spirit animal in the real world. I hope he survives. Kyoko is obviously the coolest character in the game and she's always great whenever she talks. Toko I can't stand. Aoia is the only normal one lol. She's cool. Byakuya, I'm mainly interested in seeing where his character arc will take him. I feel like he's always going to be the obvious choice for murders, so I can't see him ever being the one? His challenge to the bear that he will kill him when he wins was great, and his arc is one of the main things that will probably keep me watching despite the depressingness.

I think Celestia's murder scheme was the easiest to figure out because it was so implausable. It felt like leading idiots to an obvious conclusion to get everyone voting for her. It made me sad. She was built up to be devious. Yet a small child could have figured out a robot didn't actually attack anyone like come on Naegi. Kyoko must have a permenant headache.
Second case was my favorite! I did figure out who the killer was before it came obvious. Simply because it was obvious Togami didn't actually do it. Sure it's depressing to see murders and the despair mounts but it makes the story more real for me. The greater the despair the more vibrant the hope that comes from it. Oh man I hope you finish DR1 and get to DR2 so you can meet Nagito soon.
It was amusing to be on a tribe with Celestia and Kyoko so early. They're my favorite DR1's.

I suspected Mondo in the back of my head for a lot of the case because he was the only one I'd see getting to Chihiro like that, but I refused to believe it until it came true. I related to Taka there. Too bad Taka couldn't carry on his legacy since he was offed so soon after. The greater the despair the more vibrant the hope that comes from it eh? That's quite the interesting statement. That's like saying you can't have happiness without sadness or pleasure without suffering etc. Good without evil. Not sure if I agree with it, but it's got a point. We have it so good in the developed world compared to most people in history and the world, that we don't fully appreciate it, and we probably would if we had to live like they did for a bit. We might not appreciate hope without despair, Oh boy is that the bear's motive? I want to strangle that thing it's so obnoxiously evil. I would have taken the Junko route and not played his game. (Btw, I'm very sure Junko isn't dead. She'd be such a random character otherwise, and I get the vibe she's important based on comments people have made) The game does kind of make me want to write a story where I drop Fire Emblem characters into that danganronpa situation and see how they respond. Me and my sister wrote something similar with a Genius game where we placed random Fire Emblem characters into a Genius reality tv show and see how they'd do, and take turns writing each chapter. We didn't finish, but it was really fun.

That was my thinking as well. Chihiro went in the dark with someone late at night. Who was the most likely person she'd go with? The motives don't matter as much as the logical conclusion. Not wanting to believe the truth doesn't make it less true. I like that message. Shuichi thinks that's important too but you won't see him for 3 games.
It's a Nagito quote. He's quite into hope. Whether the bears have motives like that I'm not telling~ Isn't it true that humans get bored with being content? A loving relationship. Money. Comfort. If a person has all of these day after day they get dissatisfied. They want something different and more challenging. Being thrown into a life or death game is a tad too far though. I love Monokuma and his blatant evil though. He's completely unapologetic about it, it's a great villain.
What do you think they would do? Which FE are most likely to commit brutal murders? I'm not overly familiar with FE other then obvious memes.

Just by looking at Shuichi he seems to have a lot more personality than Makoto. I look forward to seeing him.
We got to remember that in the Matrix, the robots tried giving humans a utopia first and they wouldn't accept that. It felt wrong and false. If we have a utopia, what's left to shoot for? Growth and goals are the thing that drives humans. The most unhappy person would be the one who's already perfect, and the one who has no hope for something better is the one who is truly depressed, even if they're already well off. Perhaps it's the other way, to quote Bane, and without hope you can't have true despair. Seeing people who are living the good life on yachts or people with happy relationships gives us hope we could achieve that, but makes us really despair when we don't quite do it in our life.
Depends on which Fire Emblem game you're looking at. A lot of games have very morally ambiguious characters. Fire Emblem 5 your main advisor was literally someone who torutured people. The gba games were a lot less dark, and most of your characters are pretty objectively good, but killing people is certainly no foreign thing to any of them lol. Even the main star of the series Lyn (based on popularity votes) would go on rants about how she'd murder an entire group of bandits for revenge. I'd definitely recommend playing the games if you like story/character driven games. (And you're into strategy games) All the games from 4-10 are good as well as the remake of 2 and 3. (The remake of 1 didn't change much, so it's still basically a NES game so it hasn't aged well at all). The games after those are...... taking a bit of a different approach and focusing more on getting your characters to date, and finding a waifu/husbando for your self insert character where you blow on the DS screen to make your lover happy. No judging, but I prefer the games before that.

Also, I need to go to bed, but thinking we make Celestia the default target, and then maybe blindside Akane this time?

You're doing a great job as the Ultimate Detective 2.0 for the record. Gundham said you think I'm in trouble? Is there a problem with the faking Celes and voting Akane plan?

Thanks! I told Gundham I'm worried the other 3 might vote you. There's a bit of idol paranoia going on still.
Let me ask around a bit more today to see if I'm just the one being paranoid. This is the last round where our plans can get screwed up I think. Once we're both through this one, we're home free.

Yo, do you have an idol? That would make this round really easy no matter what we want to do lol. It's bound to expire soon anyway if you do have one.

I think you're right about this being the last round things go wrong. Is it you just being worried or have people actually approached you worried I have an idol? I don't want to tell anyone one way or another to be honest. If I don't confirm I don't have one it makes people worried about voting me right?

People have actively mentioned to me that they think you have an idol, and that it might be the last chance to target you when you don't expect it. (Which means we at least have done a good job distancing ourselves) I'm wondering how hard I press for someone else. If you don't have an idol, then I will absolutely put my foot down on someone else, but if you do, we could just let you play it if the votes go your way.

Great, I'll keep it silent. How do we want to do this? Does it expire this round and do you want to save it for next round? I think it might be flashy if everyone votes you, and we take out who we want.

That would be hilarious. Is it literally everyone who said they want to vote for me? I told Gundham you said it was idol paranoia, since he's the one who told me to ask you in the first place. You can confirm to him that I said I didn't have one and I'm very afeared at my name being dropped.
Idols expire at F5. When you see what it looks like you'll see what I meant about your fake idol looking legitimate~

Everyone except Gundham have told me they're interested in voting you this round. (Obviously don't tell them that, or they'll know the jig is up and things might be less straightforward)
What we could do, is I could tell everyone that you're telling me you don't have an idol. I could pretend to express annoyance because I don't believe you, and agree we need to try to blindside you.

If you're going to do that, don't go in on it too hard, just express annoyance and let them naturally draw you into getting that lying bastard Nagito.

It's your idol and I'm truly fine with either Akane or Celestia going. So if there's one you prefer more than the other I'll sheep it. If not, then we can list the pros and cons and figure it out.
